The Flea Market

Last Saturday was the Flea Market. I had bought a table to sell some yard sale type items and also made some baby ties (cuz it is so hard to find ties for babies and toddlers) i didnt really decided to do it till the week before so i was working my fingers to the bone to get enough done in time. i had some cute prints and some plain ties...i figured the plain ties would sell out because they are more versatile but actually all my prints sold out and only a few of the solid colors were sold. over all though it was a great success. i am thinking about starting to sell them on etsy.com and maybe at the craft fair this summer. i have this really cute cowboy print that i didn't get finished in time that would be a big seller. 

my plate is a little full now though. i have the ensign book club this week, and i was volunteered to be in charge of helping people move out which will keep me busy the next two weeks and then after that i am doing the Share Our Strength Great American Bake Sale (will talk about it in a minute) and then after all that i will try to get the tie thing off the ground our maybe i'll try to squeeze it in.

So the bake sale: it is a charity bake sale to help stop childhood hunger in America. all the proceeds from it will go to the local community. i am really excited about it. what i'm going to do is have the usual cupcakes and brownies and stuff and then i also want to have a silent cake auction. not just regular box cakes but i'm hoping some girls in the ward will have maybe a grandmas recipe or whatever of a really great cake or pie. i'm hoping to have it the end or april or the beginning of may.

Needing Advice on Comfort item for Aj

So Aj has never really been any trouble when it comes to going to other people but ever since he turned nine months he has been having some major separation anxiety. we never really get babysitters since it is just as easy to cart him around with us and i do spend all day with him but it has never really been a problem when we do get a sitter. well last sat we decided to go on a much needed date of just the two of us so we left him with his fav sitter Jamee (who is practically family and he has always loved being with her) well he cried the whole time i felt so bad. 

i think the biggest issue right now is that he doesn't have anything that comforts him other than me. he doesnt take any kind of pasifier or doesnt really have a toy or blanket that he is attached to. he does have these two glow worms in his crib (ones a sea horse) and he loves them. but everytime i try to give it to him outside of his crib he thinks i'm trying to put him down for a nap and just starts crying. i talked to the dr today and said basically i just have to ween him off slowly starting with making sure he goes to sleep without me (which he does) then passing him to others and leaving the room for escalading periods of time and he said most likely he'll grow out of it. i just know it would be so much easier if he had some kind of comfort thing. i'm worried that he'll never get one so i dont know if i should start trying to give him one or just let him find one on his own. any advice on the subject would be great

this last week

so i feel like we are just experiencing one sickness after another. once aj got over his cold he had only like a day of good health and then he got really bad "stomach" sick. it finally went away after three days but he had suck a bad rash on his little bum from it. i had to take him to the dr cuz he had little sores and everything. so now he has this butt cream to make that go away. well the night after the dr's visit he got a 101 fever. i gave him Tylenol but that really did nothing, lowered it maybe a degree or two. the following night it jumped up to 102/103. i could tell he was in pain and just felt awful. i gave him the tylanol and after twenty mins i took his temp again and there was no change. i was just so worried about him. Aaron gave him a blessing and within ten minutes his temp was down to 99 and was able to relax enough to fall asleep in my arms. he ended up sleeping in bed with me. aaron is always so afraid that he will roll over and squish aj in his sleep that he came out and slept on the couch. i felt kind of bad about that but i think we were just both so happy that aj was sleeping. the next day his temp still stayed pretty high but the medicine would bring it down just enough that he wasn't too fussy. we finally thought he was better today but about four this afternoon his fever came back a little, just a low grade though. i'm still pretty worried about him. the weird thing is that he has no other symptoms just the fever.

well in other news...our new mattress for our new bedroom set was delivered to aarons shop yesterday. i want it soooo bad but we are waiting for the furniture to come. (plus the money we are going to buy it with is still in a CD for another week) i am soooo excited to get a King size bed. then if aj wants to sleep with us we all three will fit just fine. hopefully the latest we will get it will be the beginning of april

some other exciting news: we got to pet a baby bear cub today. it was so cute it was only a few weeks old. at bear world this week only you could take pic and hold the new cubs. we had wanted to go for so long but couldn't cuz we didnt want aj to get worse. today was the last day and we figured since he was getting better we were ok to go. you could only touch the cubs if you paid the 15 dollars for a pic. so many people were turned off by that, which yeah sucked but i'm not going to give up holding a cub over 15 dollars. how many people can say they have touched a bear cub. it was way cool and totally worth the 15 dollars...so if you went but didnt get the picture: SUCKS FOR YOU! (i know, not very nice)
