I am a mastermind!

so some of you might have seen the trouble i was having with the side bar of my blog spot and i am happy to say that i used my wicked awesome skills and figured out all the high tec crap and fixed the problem. thats right! so enjoy my blog spot cuz it is all better now!
That made me feel good...
oh and as an update we will be going to Maui in 9 days!

on christmas eve we had a cookie swap party which i must tell you was wicked fun. and this wednsday we will be having a nice big new years eve dinner and party with the cheneys. aaron has convinced his parents to come down eairly. he pulled the grandchild card. so i think they are coming on thursday.
i am way bummed cuz aaron just found out he has to work on new years day! unheard of. what is the world coming to? whats next stores open on christmas and easter!
it was a big bummer

Aj had an awesome first christmas. mostly he tried eating the wrapping paper instead of opening the presents. he got some really great stuff. santa brought him a baby ensitine sign language video that we watch every morning. i know it will take a while for him to make the signs but i think he is starting to understand them when he sees them, well mostly just milk cuz i means he is going to get his bottle. weird huh the first one he reconizes has to do with food. what can i say he is an emotional eatter like his father.

your baby can read!

so i saw this infomercial (you know how i love them) about these videos, kinda like baby ensitnen, that teaches your baby how to read. you can start them as soon as three months. what it is is a video that shows a picture of a card that says SNOW and then a picture of snow or it will say ARMS UP and then shows a baby that puts his arms up. so after a while when you kid sees the words arms up he reconizes it and will put his arms up in the air. and as each video is mastered you move on to the next one. the point is so that your child can read fluently by the time they are five. i really want it cuz it not only teaches them to read but it will encourage reading (so aj wont hate it like someone else i know...i bet you can guess who) as well as makes learning fun for him.

so when i have mentioned it to other people everyone this it is the dumbest idea ever and a total waste of money. it really discourages me that no one else thinks its a good idea. i'm sad

retarted blogspot

so all my gadgets are on the bottom of my blog even though i have them on the side when i customized my bog and i cant figure out what is wrong so if someone else can figure it out i would greatly appreciate it!

The Holidays

I always hate it when stores start christmas stuff before thanksgiving has even passed but this year i am looking forward to christmas so much i have already started to hang some decorations, if aaron would let me i would put up our tree too but he says it is not officially christmas time until the day after thanksgiving which i kinda agree with. i think i am just so excited because it is Aj's first christmas. I know he wont really understand but i'm pretty sure he will know how to open his presents and stuff.

something else really exciting is that in january we will be going to see my parents in maui. i am so excited! aaron can only stay for a week then he will have to come back home to work but aj and i will stay an extra two weeks. i'm kinda bummed to spend two weeks apart (it will be the longest we will be separated) but it will be fun to spend some time with my family and of course to spend lots of time at the beach. Im going to try really really really hard to get tan too!

Birthdays

well we are on our birthday season...I just had mine and aaron's is coming up in the beginning of nov. Aaron's parents were passing though so we got to spend my birthday with them. they're in Connecticut now getting Lance settled into his new job. they have also been scoping out houses to live in that is close to a park so that aj will have plenty of room to play when we come up!

Aj has been doing really well with his high chair and cereal. in fact i cant shovel it in fast enough for him. something i didn't notice i do is when i give him a bite i open my mouth really wide and when he eats it i say mmmmmm. Now ever time he takes a bite he says it too its really cute and a much needed relief from him spitting it at me (which he thought was pretty funny there for a week or so).

This is Aj sleeping with his glow worm usually he pushes it to the side when he is done playing and ready to go asleep but this day he was just too tired.

And as you can see we got a brand new car!!! it is a 2008 beautiful Nissan Xterra. We love it! it is the best car ever and we are just so excited to no longer have to go on our long trips in that cramped little camery. Not that we dont love our camery it was just a little scary going on a road trip and wondering if the car was going to make it!

High Chair!

Last night was a very exciting night for Aj. He got to eat in his 'big boy' high chair for the first time. He did such a good job too. He really didn't spit anything out. Every time i gave him a bite of cereal he would make this face like 'yuck what is this?' and then he'd go 'oh well i'll eat it anyways'. He did that almost ever time! It was so funny...I couldn't believe how much he ate too. Oh my Gosh! In my book it said to just give him a teaspoon or two when i poured the cereal i poured way too much and he ate it all anyways and wanted more. This morning when i gave it to him for breakfast he just kept eating and eating...I think he is the bottomless pit or something he does such a good job. He even tries to help me hold the spoon when i feed him...way cute!

Infomercials!!!!

So i am terrible when it comes to infomercials. I always get sucked into whatever they are selling. so far i have these dance workout tapes (hip hop abs) that i have never used, and the shark knife sharpeners (which kinds works well, at least i use those) and now i just got this philosophy kit (its a skin care brand) i got the face wash, moisturizer, eye cream, and body gel AND as a free gift they threw in a travel bag, exfoliating scrub, lip moisturizer, and a sample of their micro derma peel to get me started. yes i was sucked in. I have heard really good things about philosophy though and with the colder weather here my face is getting so dry that i'm starting to peel and flake like some kind of lizard. I have been waiting and waiting for it to come but no luck yet. I've been tracking it and supposedly it is suppose to be here today but it just arrive in salt lake so i dont know if it is going to make it. it is really sad that right now the most exciting thing in my life is waiting for that package...oh and the new tricks that Aj can do...

So far he can grab his feet, grab a toy held out in front of him, hold his chew toy, keep his head level with his body when i pull him up (i was way excited about that one), and almost roll over (his bottom half will be completly rolled over but his top half will get stuck on his side cuz his arms get in the way, sad)

So the only other news is that Aaron leaves today to go deer hunting all weekend long, i'm a little worried cuz i've never taken care of Aj all day and night by my self so hopefully i do ok and do go crazy. I just hope he gets his deer soon so he can come home, i've always wanted to try veal too so it should be interesting.

In the Navy!

Well we are very excited that Aaron was finally accepted and sworn into the Navy! We are so excited and so happy! Last friday Aaron's entire family all swarmed in and his dad was able to swear him in, which was really nice. We had Grandma, Aunt Nett, Nick, Blake & Jessica, Lance & Gayla, and even Janet and Daryl (aunt and uncle) from Utah came to see it. And of course Eric & Jenny and Justin & Carrie and Preston (his wifey was at work) met us at the park for the swearing in. Both Blake & Jessica and Lance & Gayla stayed with us for the weekend so you can understand, i'm sure, of how glad we were to have the bigger apartment.
Aaron was sworn in Saturday morning at Smith park. In fact we did it right when there was a perfect break from the rain (as soon as it was over it just started to pour!). Then everyone came back to our place for some way yummie cupcakes i made (oh dont worry i'll post a pic of them cuz they were way cute little sailor men). one of my new hobbies is cupcake making...i know weird!
Now we are just waiting for all the paper work to get sent to all the right people and processed. The bummer is since we get paid by direct deposit it could take up to two months (but of course we will be back paid!). we are just so excited that Aaron is already set with a job after he graduates (which so many around here arn't) and that in this terrible economy right now we dont have to worry about job security or health insurance or just getting by, its refreshing.
thats about all the excitement for now.

Aj's first tooth

Today was a way exciting day for Aj. His first tooth came in! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be for him. I thought he would cry like crazy and have a wicked high fever and be all snotty. He did fuss a little but really other than that he was just a little droolie. I just think it is so crazy because he isn't even three months old. I even made him promise he would stay a little baby forever and here he goes growing teeth. What is he thinking?
The only bummer is that he is still really little so he really hasn't figured out how to bite down on his teething ring. He'll bite down on my finger (which hurts really bad for me) but nothing else.

Some other exciting news is that Aaron finally got his acceptance letter into the navy. Something else that is kinda exciting was that Aaron was accepted into the supply corps. We originally thought he was going into surface warfare (driving the ship shoot the big guns) but with supply corps. he orders the things the ship (sub, or whatever) needs which means he really wont have to go out to sea that much. We will be more likely to be stationed in other countries which i think will be fun while are kids (well just one kid now) are still young.

The Fair!

well you'll be happy to know that i took all my sorrows and successfully stuffed them deep down inside so that it will be a while before i rant and rave again.

On Tuesday we went to the fair in blackfoot it was way fun. We went with a few friends from the ward and just had a great time. I think Aj really enjoyed it too (well as much as a baby can). Of course there was a lot of food and we stuffed ourselves full of everything deep fried.

They even had a petting zoo with some way cute puppies! It was way nice to get out of the house and spend some time together as a family!

Update on the Navy: it is going to yet again take more time. Aaron had to take a physical test at a recruiting station in IF well the guy giving Aaron his test wrote down the wrong weight (putting that he was 5lbs over weight) well this put a hold on Aarons acceptance letter because it was a different weight then when he was weighed in Butte (yes it is that complicated). So after about five people running around not knowing what to do; they fixed the typo and now claims that there are no more bumps and his letter should go in the mail tomorrow. We'll see about that...Aaron's dad just keeps saying this is how the navy is and i dont know if i am going to be ok with this because it is driving me crazy!

I am very excited to say that we finally moved into our new apartment. it has been way hard and we are still unpacking and i still have to clean the other apartment but it was way worth it! we have so much more space i love it! i also love that it is all on one floor. it is going to take a while for me to get use to having someone live on top of us (we use to live in a town house). but i just keep telling my self (when i can hear them walking our hammering or whatever) that it is way worth it!

a little bit of ranting

So i'm just hanging out at home with Aj. Aaron has had to work the last two days. I really took for granite all the time he was able to spend at home the last two weeks. its going to be hard when school starts and he will be gone almost every day.

we have been waiting and waiting for our letter from the navy so that Aaron can be sworn in and we can get our salary. yesterday aaron talked to his recruiter and come to find out when he had said we were accepted we really weren't! Aaron had just passed the first board. the good news is that he just passed the final board and we are officially accepted. but of course it is going to take another two weeks before we get any of the paperwork needed for him to be sworn in. i am so sick of being told that it will just be a few more weeks because it is always a few weeks and when that comes its a few weeks more.

to make matters worse aaron's new job has once again screwed us over. his boss was going to fire two people and aaron was going to work full time this last few weeks (which we really need since the navy is taking so long we are just surviving off of what little money aaron can make). well aaron thought he would help out his friend and get him a job too since they where firing two people...well low and behold the boss has yet to man up and fire anyone so now they are way over staffed. and guess who gets less hours because of it- thats right aaron! since once school starts he will only be able to work part time they just decide to make him part time now and give all his hours to his friend. it just makes me so mad...i'm so sick of us trying to help some else and it hurts us in the end.

To make matters worse the only thing i had to look forward to was moving into a bigger apartment (upstairs handicap). we have been on a waiting list for a year and a half for this apartment. because they are remodeling alot of the apartments not only here but on campus they are having to use some of our handicap apartments for some single students that would be living on campus. The apartment that the couple that now lives in MY APARTMENT wanted (which is a 3 bedroom i think) is being used for some of those single students so they get the one we would have lived in. this wouldn't really bother me except they have three kids and you cant live in a two bedroom apartment with 3 kids (once your 3rd baby is 6 months! BUT of course like all things that goes on in my life there is a double standard that doesn't benefit us because i saw there baby and if he is not 6 months he will be very soon!

honestly if you cant tell this is the last straw for me! i might just lash out at anyone. i am so sick of being screwed over and swept under the rug and forgotten. its not like life is stressful enough living off of 80 dollars a month with mountains of medical debt because we can only afford the worst insurance in the world. the only thing that was going to make me happy was this apartment and it was taken away and worse by a family that either shouldn't be there or should be leaving very soon (though i'm sure they wont). so we have been offered the downstairs handicap which has less room and no tub and who knows when we can move in because they may use it for some of the single students.

you might say i'm a little depressed...

August 2008

It's kind of weird for me to write a blog but I am going to try it out because everyone I know writes one.
A big happening this week was that we returned home from washington (where we were visiting Aaron's parents). We went to see Aaron's brother get married. We had a really great time and Aj did really well with all the traveling. When we got home I tried to put Aj back in his bassinet but he was way way to big for it. I was unbelievably sad that I had to put him in his crib across the hall. Needless to say I cried half the night and spent the rest of it checking on him to make sure he was still breathing. He didn't sleep much either because he was in a new place and wanted to look around, now he has spent all day sleeping.
Aaron has been working hard at his new job, he is a mover for a furniture company. He is still waiting for his acceptance into the navy. Its hard waiting but we know it will be worth it once we get the letter.
